Greenbank Group
A specialist engineering company with a global customer base. Greenbank provides a wide range of products and services to companies operating across a number of industries and is now establishing itself in the clean and wastewater sector. For many years the company has utilised the unique properties of volcanic basalt for lining products used in heavy industries such as power generation and minerals extraction. In partnership with Czech firm Eutit, the company has also been pioneering the use of basalt in the renovation and restoration of sewer systems in central European following a series of successful projects in Prague. As a result of devastating floods, the city’s sewer system was extensively rebuilt and upgraded with basalt being used in a number of key locations to provide a new level of security to the system. More than a decade on, the new system continues to perform well and has set a standard that’s now been followed in other European cities. Well suited for the most demanding of applications, thanks to the partnership between Greenbank and Eutit, a wide range of basalt solutions are now available in the UK market. These include products and systems that bring a wide range of benefits to the industry, including: Basalt tiles that can also be used to line existing brickwork, a more cost-effective solution than full replacement, and their reduced drag co-efficient means improved flow – in effect a smaller-diameter pipe or tunnel lined with basalt can carry a higher volume of water than a larger one with traditional brick surfaces. The effective life expectancy of basalt-lined sewer systems is between 100 and 200 years, thanks to their excellent resistance to abrasion and chemical damage – as well as the rigours of high-pressure water jetting that’s often used to clear unwanted blockages. For larger round or ovoid systems, basalt can be used in the lower sections to deal with the wear and tear with concrete upper sections to provide optimum life performance. Alternatively, steel pipes lined with basalt can be produced up to 3000mm diameter producing a lighter therefore lower cost installation option to thick wall concrete. Ease of installation and reduced maintenance costs make basalt ideal for bottom gutters, branch pipes and tubes and slip-resistant elements for walkways, and Greenbank can also supply bespoke-shaped tiles to meet the unique requirements of individual clients. With manufacturing facilities in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, supported by the additional capacity and expertise provided by the latest addition to the group, Franklyn Yates Engineering, Greenbank is well placed to react quickly and efficiently to the needs of new and existing clients.

GoFlo
GoFlo screens are designed and manufactured in Stroud, Gloucestershire, UK, meaning our expertise and support is never far away. The screens are all stainless-steel structural construction (including the mesh belt), with self-lubricating polymer bearings on the driveshafts, UHMW rubbing strips for the mesh belt and Acetal drive sprockets. All of the polymer materials have been tested to ensure Regulation 31 compliance for the overall GoFlo system. Our screens can be supplied with a bar-spacing down to 1.8 mm to ensure compliance with the Eel Regulations or strictest fisheries regulations. They are self-cleaning and incorporate debris flights to carry the debris up the screen, an inside-outwards high pressure debris spray boom and integrated debris trough and return channel. Ourscreens use an innovative mounting system, enabling them to be quickly lifted in and out, and on re-installation they are guided precisely into position without the need for divers, even into flooded intakes. We can supply just the screens, or a complete system including debris trough and return channel and walkways. We design our systems in 3D and work closely with our clients to design an optimised overall solution to meet their requirements. Water Utility clients include Southern Water, Southwest Water, Wessex Water and Welsh Water, along with various hydropower operators who use our screens. We are always keen to help solve your problems; recent innovations include an ‘intake box’ system that allowed our screens to be installed by divers without having to de-water a 4.5 metre deep live intake that could not be taken offline for more than 8 hours, and a recent slide in/slide out mounting system that allowed our screens to be installed underneath live 11 kV powerlines – in both cases our innovations saved the client substantial amounts of money. If you have a new intake project or have to upgrade an existing intake to be Eel Regs or fisheries compliant, we are keen to find out more. We are happy to provide a budget proposal and initial design/3D model at no cost, so please get in touch.

The pipeline will replace existing portable water mains across the North East of England. GPHL are installing over 11 km of new steel welded main, completing works at the Whorley Strategic Connection including three number cast in situ underground tanks and tying in both the new inlet and twin outlet pipework to the existing reservoir. Hydro electric: GPHL have recently completed all the civil engineering works on a pioneering new type of hydro energy generation scheme at Whiteadder Reservoir, East Lothian for Scottish Water as part of its work to reduce carbon emissions. The hydro energy generation scheme is fed by a siphon and is believed to be the first of its type in Europe. The scheme will enable Scottish Water to generate green energy while accurately controlling the level of the reservoir during seasonal fluctuations in weather. The siphon technology in the project allows Scottish Water to draw water up through the intake and over the top of the dam which then runs down through the siphon, through the hydro turbine, and back to the natural environment. Flood alleviation: GPHL are also currently subcontracted to Volker Stevin on the Flood Risk management Scheme in Appleby, for the Environment Agency. The project involves the installation of a new flood relief pumping station and installation of a new stretch of culvert diverting an existing culvert to the pumping station. A new rising main will outfall into the River Eden. The scheme is known as Appleby Town Centre Flood Risk Management Scheme (FRMS) and aims to reduce flooding caused by surcharging of the Doomgate Culvert which is designated as a main river and is a tributary of the River Eden.

A directory of vetted water treatment companies, built for the shortlist decision.
Picking the wrong water treatment partner is not a small mistake. A mis-specified system locks your site into 15 or more years of the wrong OPEX, and a single emergency retrofit to correct it routinely runs ,000 to 0,000 on a mid-size industrial plant. The defence against that cost is a wider, better-qualified field at the shortlist stage, which is exactly what this directory is built to give you.
Aguato brings industrial water treatment companies, water treatment equipment manufacturers, wastewater treatment companies, and specialist service providers into one comparable view. Instead of ranking the same three incumbents your team already knows, you can filter the full set of water treatment suppliers by country, sector, and technology, then compare services, declared technologies, and verification status side by side. Every listing is reviewed against a quality bar before it is published, and providers who have claimed and confirmed their own details carry a verified badge, so you can weight the field on evidence rather than on who markets the loudest.
The payoff is a defensible decision. Shortlist three to five providers that genuinely fit your duty, request scoped proposals on one specification, and you get apples-to-apples pricing your CFO can sign off without a second round of questions. Post your project and qualified providers will scope the work against your actual numbers.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I compare vetted water treatment companies on Aguato?
- Filter the directory by country, sector, and technology to narrow the field, then open each provider profile to compare services, technologies served, and verification status side by side. Shortlist three to five that match your duty and request scoped proposals so you compare like for like rather than auditioning brochures.
- What should I check before shortlisting a water treatment supplier?
- Confirm the provider has delivered your specific technology at your scale, that their stated regions cover your site, and that their service scope matches what you need, supply only, EPC, or a managed water-as-a-service contract. A mismatch on any of these is where six-figure procurement mistakes start, so verify fit before you invest time in an RFP.
- How does Aguato vet water treatment equipment manufacturers and service providers?
- Every listing is reviewed against a quality bar covering company description depth, declared services and technologies, geographic coverage, and website verification before it is published. Profiles a provider has claimed and verified carry a verified badge, so you can prioritise companies that have confirmed their own details.
- Is it free to compare wastewater treatment companies and request proposals?
- Yes. Browsing the directory, filtering by region and technology, and requesting scoped proposals from shortlisted providers is free for buyers. You only commit once you accept a proposal directly with a provider, so the cost of comparing the field properly is zero.
